The Safari Butler supporting conservation
Proudly Zimbabwean and fueled by a desire to share his passion for food and the African Bush, The Safari Butler, Dean Dewdney, has dedicated his life to bringing out the best in fine dining and remote catering.
After years of playing Professional Rugby based in the United Kingdom, Dean came back to his native country Zimbabwe with two things in mind – Food and Travel. Having spent years working on a model to combine these two passions, Dean came up with the concept of The Safari Butler and offers a range of unique activities focused around gastronomy travel.
Prior to and throughout the COVID pandemic, Dean had started to provide additional services to the local community, offering well priced traditional meals to organisations for their staff lunches. It had been this service that had allowed Dean to continue with his business and doing what he loves at a time when so few were travelling.
Dean believes it is important for every individual and organisation to give back within their own community where they are able to, and it is this belief along with his passion for the wild spaces within Zimbabwe, that Dean began providing a daily traditional lunch to the Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching team as his way of giving back several months ago to assist the dedicated scouts with sustenance for their continued hard work in conserving the environment and wildlife in and around Victoria Falls.
