101 year old proves you are never too old for adventure
This last weekend saw a Zimbabwean family of twenty-five members of the forty-two strong Lock clan, spanning 4 generations, travel to Victoria Falls to celebrate the 101st birthday of their mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mollie Lock.
Born in 1920, Mollie Lock is a mother of six, a grandmother of twenty, and a great grandmother of six. Previously a medical artist and a Red Cross Voluntary Aid Detachment Nurse during the second World War, Mollie has become famous for her medical drawings, of which an estimated 300 are preserved in the East Grinstead Museum in the United Kingdom.
Staying at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, the annual gathering of the family has become somewhat of a tradition to celebrate their beloved Mollie Lock and to witness her continued eagerness to partake in the diverse activities the destination has to offer. As an avid adventurer throughout her life, Mollie has certainly not let age slow down her appetite for adrenalin, and this last weekend saw Mollie take yet another leap off the Batoka Gorge on the High Wire adrenalin activity “The Flying Fox” operated by Wild Horizons.
Wishing you a wonderful 101st year Mollie Lock on behalf of the entire Victoria Falls Community!
