Airlines show confidence in Victoria Falls with the resumption of flights

It has been a week of good news as a number of airlines have come forward with announcements of plans to resume flights to the tourism and adventure hub of Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls. With the COVID-19 vaccine quickly rolling out across the world's populations, many have started to look at travel plans to get out and explore the world and Victoria Falls remains a prime destination and tourism hub to offer wide open spaces with a diversity of adventure experiences in a natural environment.

 

BA Comair has today announced its plans to resume flights to the tourism hub of the region and as of 13th May they will once again fly the Johannesburg - Victoria Falls route with the following schedule:-

 

13th May - JBG - VFA - Departure from JBG at 11h40, Arrival at VFA at 13h20
 13th May - VFA - JBG - Departure from VFA at 14h00, Arrival at JBG at 15h40
 16th May - JBG - VFA - Departure from JBG at 11h40, Arrival at VFA at 13h20
 16th May - VFA - JBG - Departure from VFA at 14h00, Arrival at JBG at 15h40
 20th May - JBG - VFA - Departure from JBG at 11h40, Arrival at VFA at 13h20
 20th May - VFA - JBG - Departure from VFA at 14h00, Arrival at JBG at 15h40
 23rd May - JBG - VFA - Departure from JBG at 11h40, Arrival at VFA at 13h20
 23rd May - VFA - JBG - Departure from VFA at 14h00, Arrival at JBG at 15h40
 27th May - - JBG - VFA - Departure from JBG at 11h40, Arrival at VFA at 13h20

As of 1st June, BA Comair will resume daily flights between Johannesburg and Victoria Falls as follows:-

 

JBG - VFA - Departure from JBG at 11h25, Arrival at VFA at 13h05
 VFA - JBG - Departure from VFA at 13h55, Arrival at JBG at 15h35

 

In addition to both Fastjet and BAComair resuming their flights to the adventure capital of Southern Africa, SA Airlink have included flights on both Mondays and Fridays from Cape Town to Victoria Falls in their schedule for May.

 

These regional flights join the longer haul airlines such as Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airlines who continue to fly routes to Victoria Falls based on demand. One thing is for certain, as the air access routes continue to open up, Victoria Falls tourism stakeholders stand ready and prepared to welcome back travellers with the warm Zimbabwean hospitality that this destination is renowned for.
