Victoria Falls photographer included in Remembering African Wild Dogs Book
Well renowned Zimbabwean born and Victoria Falls based photographer, Tami Walker, has been selected as one of the photographers whose image of Wild Dogs taken in Mana Pools will be included in the "Remembering African Wild Dogs" Book due to be released
"Remembering African Wild Dogs" is part of a collection of books under the Remembering Wildlife brand created by British wildlife photographer Margot Raggett, who was prompted to take action after seeing a poached elephant in Kenya in 2014. Margot reached out to to fellow wildlife photographers to contribute towards an awareness and fundraising book which resulted in the first of the collection "Remembering Elephants" published in 2016. Since then the organisation has grown from strength to strength with a total of 5 published books focusing on different endangered species - Elephant, Rhino, The Great Apes, Lion and Cheetah. "Remembering African Wild Dogs" becomes the sixth book in the sought after collection of species specific wildlife photography and conservation awareness books.
Remembering Wildlife is a unique business model in that the funds raised through the sale of the books, exhibitions and events are then put forward towards wildlife conservation projects. To date the organisation has distributed more than GBP 775,000 / USD 1 million to 51 different conservation projects in 24 countries across Africa and Asia.
With a prime focus on African Wildlife and the surrounds, Tami Walker has become well known and popular for her monochrome work which creates a striking contrast between the subject and the background. Her love for photography blossomed after taking her first successful and recognized image, "Rush Hour" which remains one of her best known photographs. In 2018, following her growing success and acknowledgment as a favoured wildlife photographer, Tami opened the Tami Walker Fine Art Gallery which has become a great attraction for people visiting Victoria Falls. The Gallery includes a delightful coffee shop where visitors can view her range of images whilst relaxing and watching the world outside pass by. Tami's photography is a product of passion, love and a deep admiration for this beautiful continent Africa and she has consistently captured the essence of Africa and nature in all her work.
