Vaccination roll-out process begins in Matabeleland
As Victoria Falls and Hwange continue to see a decline in COVID-19 positive cases, the DMO from the Hwange District confirmed that the COVID-19 vaccination process would begin today with vaccinating healthcare workers across the region.
The vaccination process will begin rolling out as per the phased plans of the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare, with healthcare workers across the country being the first to receive the vaccine. Vaccinations will remain a choice and will be voluntary as the phased roll out gains momentum.
"Vaccination remains only part of the measures taken to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. All other measures such as hand washing, sanitisation, masking up and social distancing remain in place. It is our hope that all these measures combined will help us return to business, particularly for all those in the Hwange district, whose livelihoods depend greatly upon the resumption of travel," said the DMO.
Healthcare workers across the region continue to do an outstanding job both in terms of COVID-19 response and in ensuring continued provision of all essential healthcare services. The Victoria Falls community is indebted to our healthcare workers who have continued to work with the utmost professionalism and care throughout these trying times.
