Travel Journalist Family "The Bucket List Family" experience Zimbabwe

Theirs is a unique story, but one that inspires thousands of people around the world to travel and experience the diverse destinations and cultures that are on offer. Since 2015, “The Bucket List Family”, the Gee’s, have been working from around the world as Family Travel Journalists. In just three years of living full-time on the road, the family had visited 65 countries.

This year, despite the ongoing challenges associated with travelling during the pandemic, The Bucket List Family chose to spend their Summer Semester in Africa experiencing different countries including Zimbabwe where the family travelled to Victoria Falls, Hwange National Park, Matobo Hills, Gonarezhou, and Singita Pamushana organized by the Luxury African Safari Specialist Operator, Mavros Safaris. They also stayed at the Mavros Family home whilst in Zimbabwe.

Whilst in Victoria Falls, the Bucket List Family stayed at Matetsi Victoria Falls, an exclusive and award-winning luxury lodge along the Upper Zambezi River. Here the family were able to experience game drives on the Matetsi Private Game Reserve, as well as enjoy sunset cruises on the Zambezi River. Parents Garrett and Jess Gee also took time to experience the spectacular Zambezi and her incredible flora and fauna on board canoes whilst at Matetsi, a peaceful and tranquil way to explore the river and the diversity of wildlife that it supports. The Family also ventured into Victoria Falls City with Signature Africa where they had a privately guided Tour of Victoria Falls and took part in the adrenalin charged Zipline over the Batoka Gorge with Wild Horizons.

On their Instagram account, The Bucket List Family mentioned that the biggest up to travelling right now “has been seeing just how much it means to the countries and lodges and tour companies to be open again. We love to travel because of the positive effect it has on our kids and family… BUT so grateful when we can return the favor and be a source of some good to the places we visit as well.”

In August The Bucket List Family will be working with Mavros Safaris to add multiple itineraries for Zimbabwe to their Bucket List Destinations for their 2.6 million followers.
