Matetsi Victoria Falls brings home the Silver Award at the International Tourism Film Festival - Africa 2021
Matetsi Victoria Falls this last week was awarded the Silver Award at the International Tourism Film Festival - Africa 2021 for their "Matetsi Victoria Falls - A Conservation Journey" showcasing the incredible efforts to restore the wildlife and protect the landscape of their 136,000 acre private game reserve that sits within the heart of the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) and plays a vital role in the biodiversity of Victoria Falls and the surrounding areas.
Matetsi Victoria Falls over the course of the last six years have established an extensive road network allowing for rapid response and easier movement of patrols, and have installed 16 solar powered boreholes on the private reserve in order to bring life giving water to the wildlife in the region. Through these and other efforts, the wildlife in the region has increased significantly with over 50 species of mammals and an estimated 350 species of birds. In addition, the nine miles of river frontage and the variety of ecosystem landscapes is now effectively protected and preserved for future generations.
Matetsi has grown from strength to strength over the course of the last six years and has won several awards and accolades for their exclusive luxury safari experiences and offering. Huge congratulations go out to the entire team at Matetsi Victoria Falls. We are proud to have you as part of the Victoria Falls and Destination Zimbabwe family.
