Kazangula and Victoria Falls border posts reopen to vaccinated travellers

Today on 30th July 2021, the Kazangula and Victoria Falls Border Posts to Zimbabwe have reopened to travellers who are fully vaccinated only. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers will be denied entry through these two land borders.

Whilst Zimbabwe's main International Airports have remained open throughout 2021, the land borders were closed in January 2021 to prevent and manage the transmission of the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this week, following persistent requests from the tourism sector in Zimbabwe, Cabinet resolved to reopen the Kazangula border with Botswana, and the Victoria Falls border with Livingstone Zambia, to allow for tourism travel to resume between the countries.

Please note the following measures still remain in place for all those arriving into Zimbabwe regardless of access points:-

All passengers are required to complete a COVID-19 surveillance form on arrival.
 All passengers arriving at any port of entry are required to present a negative PCR COVID-19 Clearance Certificate obtained within 48 hours before departure for Zimbabwe, in line with WHO Guidelines. If officials believe a traveller to be symptomatic, they may be required to undergo a further PCR test on arrival, regardless of the negative certificate, and at their own cost.
 An Airport or Port Health Official will take traveller temperatures. Anyone recording a temperature equal to or higher than 38°C will be required to have a PCR COVID-19 test at their own cost.
 Travellers that test positive at the Port of Entry will then be required to go into a local isolation / quarantine centre for 10 days if they have no symptoms, or 13 days if they are symptomatic. Isolation / Quarantine is at the traveller’s own expense.
 After isolation / quarantine, travellers will need to be retested (at their own cost) before they are permitted to travel home or on to their next destination. 
 Travellers are to adhere to WHO COVID-19 standard practices at all times, such as maintaining social distancing, wearing a mask in public and practicing personal hygiene. 

Those travelling from any country considered a 'Hotspot' of the Alpha or Delta variant, or where cases of the variants are on the increase, will be required to quarantine on arrival at their own cost. Currently those travelling from, or in transit through India, are required to quarantine on arrival in Zimbabwe.
