Along with the Children's feeding scheme ( Monday to Friday), the COVID-19 taskforce have continued to run the ‘Food for Work’ programme for adults in and around Victoria Falls whereby volunteers have stepped forward to help with town improvement projects to ensure the look and feel of the town is improved and ready for the return of tourism. In return for their volunteered hours of labour they receive a 10kg bags of mealie meal, as well as a light snack and drinks.

Volunteers have included previously employed workers in the tourism sector who have lost their positions of employment as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every Friday groups of 45 volunteers are out collecting litter across the town.

Special thanks go to Shearwater who run and oversee the project and ensure that all volunteers are following the COVID-19 hygiene protocols.

To date an estimated 3200 bags of litter have been removed from the town, road signage and curbs have been fixed and repainted and the town continues to look clean and ready to welcome tourists back.
