New affordable 'hop-on / hop-off' transport launches in Victoria Falls
Following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, two young and dynamic tourism entrepreneurs, AJ Benzon and Jamie Henson, decided to get together and discuss how they could tackle the challenge of affordable transport, and offer a distinctly different yet more cost effective way for budget travellers to get in and around the tourism hub of Victoria Falls in the future. Clever and yet simple in it's conception, a hop-on hop-off bus service will be offering a scheduled route around the tourism hotspots during the day, and the restaurants by night, for a once-off daily ticket fee.
The "Bamba Bus" derives its name from the local Ndebele word "Bamba" meaning "to catch", and in their efforts to ensure an experience which is proudly Zimbabwean and local to the core, AJ and Jamie have incorporated a music system inside the bus and will play local soundtracks, allowing travellers to enjoy the musical talent of Zimbabweans whilst exploring the destination.
When AJ and Jamie first decided on the concept of the new venture, they began their search for the ultimate "Bamba Bus" and found an old T35 Mazda, the quintessential Zimbabwean mode of transport. Both the engine and interior were completely refurbished by local artisans and mechanics, a driver was hired, and the route planning began.

Due to be officially launched as a hop-on / hop-off transport service in June 2021, the "Bamba Bus" in the interim will be servicing private group bookings for those looking for an efficient and cost-effective mode of transport whilst visiting Victoria Falls.
The "Bamba Bus" brings with it a fresh new service offering to visitors on a smaller budget, and adds diversity to the existing established transfer and taxi services in and around Victoria Falls.
