The pastoral leaders from a diverse array of churches throughout the Victoria Falls and Hwange Rural District region have during the lockdown period been working together to participate in and support the ongoing efforts of the Victoria Falls COVID-19 taskforce.

From raising awareness on health and safety, to raising funds and securing food donations to assist with food security efforts, assisting with distribution of supplies to vulnerable households in both urban and rural communities, to growing seedlings for the communities to develop their own nutritional gardens and community support centres, and providing vital counselling to families and frontline workers throughout the lockdown period, the pastoral leaders have been a vital and integral part of the ongoing efforts of preparedness and response that have taken place over the past few months.

Beneficiaries of the Pastors Seedling project have already started planting and nurturing their gardens and are seeing the rewards of their combined efforts in being able to sustain some form of livelihood and provide a supply chain of vegetables to other members of the community.

This inspirational group of leaders have gone above and beyond in their contribution to the Victoria Falls COVID-19 taskforce and the Victoria falls community.
